Love Well — Philippians 1:9-11 (The Message)

So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.

This song fills my heart tonight…

The little things are God’s greatest gifts…

22. A sweet hug from a dear friend
21. Starbucks Pumpkin Scones…
20. …with a Pumpkin Spiced Latte
19. Listening to her practice her violin
18. My favorite red blanket
17. Silence
16. Peacock feathers
15. Crescendos
14. God meeting me while I do the dishes
13. Catching Miss R reading books to her sick sister

Higher Than I

(verse 1)
When my heart is overwhelmed
And I cannot see the light
Take me to the Rock that is higher than I

(verse 2)
When I start to feel afraid
Could I run to the shelter of Your Name
Jesus, the Rock, that is higher than I

        (chorus)
        Rock of salvation, unmoving foundation
Tower of strength, beacon of hope
May my faith stand on You
And always, may my soul be anchored to
Jesus, the Rock that is higher than I

New Work?

Hmmm…

Older, more experienced Christians often have greater troubles, temptations, and difficulties in the world. God has new work for them to do. He now plans that all the graces they have, be used in new and harder ways. They may not find their spiritual desires to be as strong as before or have such delight in spiritual duties as they had before. Because of this, they feel that grace has dried up in them. They do not know where they are or what they are.  But in spite of all this, the real work of sanctification is still thriving in them, and the Holy Spirit is still working effectively

in them. God is faithful. Therefore, let us cling to our hope without wavering.
